At Hols Pets, each pet I look after brings a unique personality, and Rufus and Pip are no exception! These two furry friends bring such warmth and fun to their home, and they have a wonderful way of making even the quietest moments feel like an adventure.
Rufus, with his calm and collected nature, has a peaceful, wise presence. He’s happiest sitting beside me, just watching the world go by. While Rufus is content with the calm, Pip has a bit more mischief in her! Pip’s favourite pastime? Chasing squirrels and pigeons in the garden! She’s always on the lookout, ready to pounce and play, and her energy is infectious. There’s a constant sense of excitement in the air with her around.
However, it’s not all innocent fun with Pip. She recently found herself in a bit of trouble after rolling in fox poo – the little rascal! It was bath and blow-dry time for her, and although she wasn’t thrilled, she certainly came out smelling fresher than ever. Rufus watched with what seemed like a gentle amusement, his calm demeanour a contrast to Pip’s cheeky antics.
Despite their differences, both Rufus and Pip share an endearing bond with me. They’re like my little shadows, always by my side as I work, patiently waiting for my next move. When it comes to garden time, Rufus enjoys a relaxed potter, while Pip eagerly looks forward to her long morning and afternoon strolls, where she can explore her surroundings.
Their companionship reminds me of why I love this work. Every pet has its quirks, and being a part of their world – if only for a little while – is a special privilege.
